inside the cologne cathedral

the thing i loved most about the inside of the cathedral was the 19th century stained glass windows. the set on the south side are called the "bayernfenster" and were a gift from ludwig I of bavaria. contrasting the cold, grey exterior, the windows were bright and filled with reds, blues, golds, and greens. i can't imagine how they must look with the light shining through them on a bright, sunny day when they look so luminescent even on a rainy one.
